About the Topic
Homology modelling is one of the computational structure prediction methods that are used to determine protein 3D structure from its amino acid sequence. It is considered to be the most preferable computational structure prediction methods.
Three dimensional structure of Protein is consider as most essential element for bioscience research such as in drug discovery and designing process. Modeller is one of the most used tool in homology modelling by the researchers around the world.
Molecular docking is one of the advanced computer based simulation techniques used to study receptor-ligand interaction at the atomistic level. It is widely adopted by life research professionals to understand mechanism of biochemical reaction, protein-protein interaction, to discover and design new drug molecules for life threatening diseases. In this training program you will be trained to use most cited Molecular Docking Software from Autodock group.
This training will be useful for students, research fellow, faculties from life Science and pharmaceutical science background.

Day-1(16th Oct 9 AM to 2 PM)
- Importance of protein structure prediction in biological research
- Challenges in protein structure prediction and solutions.
- Theoretical overview and steps in homology modelling
Hands-on-Session
- Modelling three dimensional structure of protein using modeller.
Day-2(17th Oct 5 PM to 9 PM)
- Theoretical overview of molecular docking
- Challenges, limitation, methodology and some case studies.
Lab session
- Getting and optimizing the structure of ligand and receptor
- Working with Autodock vina and analysis of result
