ABOUT THE THEME TOPIC
Python for Data Analysis and Machine Learning in Bioscience Research
.Python offers great tools for data analysis, visualization, and reproducible research. Its open-source nature and wide range of libraries make it useful for managing complex biological datasets, like genomic sequences, proteomics data, and clinical trials. In addition to traditional data analysis, Python includes strong frameworks and libraries, such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and pandas, for applying machine learning techniques like classification, clustering, and predictive modeling. This helps researchers find patterns, gain insights, and make informed predictions based on data. Whether you are conducting exploratory data analysis, building machine learning models, or visualizing complex trends in your data, Python provides a solid and flexible platform. Learning Python is not just a technical skill; it is also an important capability for bioscience researchers in today’s data-driven world.
About this Workshop
This workshop takes you on a complete learning journey with Python. It starts from the very basics and moves step by step toward real-world applications in bioscience research.
In the first two days, you will build a solid foundation in Python programming while exploring its essential libraries, including NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, and Seaborn for data handling and visualization. On Day 3, the focus shifts to Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA). You will learn practical techniques to clean, analyze, and interpret biological datasets.
Days 4 and 5 are dedicated to Machine Learning. You will gain hands-on experience with classification, clustering, and predictive modeling using Scikit-learn. You will also see how these methods are applied to real biological problems, such as disease prediction, gene clustering, and cancer subtype classification.
By the end of the workshop, you will have skills to use Python for analyzing complex biological data, building ML models, and uncovering meaningful insights.
